How to Choose
Communications relays are chosen on three numbers: how high the antenna must go, how much it weighs, and how fast one team can raise it. The portable tripod-mast systems extend from 2 m to 15 m by adding sections through the crane arm, keep a fixed retracted height of 1110 or 1400 mm, and are installed by one person in 5 to 30 minutes from a single wheeled bag. For shelters and trailers the square-profile masts reach 14 m in motorized or hand-cranked form. Rack cabins protect the radio equipment at the base.
