Abstract

The invention relates to a two-mode guy reel for mast systems that tie a column (1), raised by adding tubes from below, to the ground with guying ropes (4). Each guying rope (4) is wound on the drum (7) of a reel at its own anchor that needs no external power. In installation mode the drum (7) is connected to a force-limiting device (11); it pays out the rope with a limited force while the column rises and takes it in with a limited force while the column comes down. In lock mode the same drum is locked by a ratchet wheel (9) and its pawl (10) and brought to the final pretension with a winding lever (13). The modes are changed with a mode selector (12). The column is therefore held by all its guys at every moment of setting up and striking, and no separate tensioning device is needed.
