Abstract

The invention relates to a mast system with a column (2) that passes vertically through a tripod head (1) and is extended by adding tubes from below. The lifting plate (5) carrying the lower end of the column (2) carries a pulley (6, 7) on each of two opposite sides of the column axis. The rope (4) of the winch (3) on one side of the head (1) runs under the first pulley (6), under the column axis and under the second pulley (7), and up to a fixed anchorage (8) on the opposite side of the head (1). Because the two runs of the rope (4) rise on both sides of the column (2), the lifting force is centred on the column axis, the lifting plate (5) stays level and the force needed at the winch is reduced. Retaining pins (10) above the pulleys (6, 7) prevent the rope (4) from being reeved the wrong way.
