Inventra exhibited its reconnaissance and surveillance product line at IDEF 2023

Inventra took part in IDEF, the International Defence Industry Fair, held in Istanbul in July 2023. The stand presented the product line the way it is actually specified: not as separate items, but as the chain a surveillance system is built from.

What was shown

Sensor systems. The stabilised thermal and day gimbal family, covering both uncooled LWIR and cooled MWIR channels, with an EO channel at 1920 × 1080 and 30× optical zoom, laser rangefinding and image-processing target tracking.

Motion systems. Single and dual axis electromechanical positioners, including the rotator class used for continuously rotating apertures.

Elevation. The telescopic mast range, from compact screw-driven units sized for small vehicles up to the spindle-driven platforms that hold stability at full extension.

Why the chain, not the catalogue

Most enquiries at an exhibition begin with one element — a camera, or a mast — and end up describing all three. The purpose of showing the line assembled was to make that conversation shorter: a visitor could see the payload interface, the positioner it mounts to and the mast that carries them, and ask about the three constraints together rather than in sequence.

The pattern was consistent enough to be worth reporting. Conversations that opened with a sensor question almost always finished at the mast, because the question behind them was an angular one: how accurately the system points is decided at the top of the structure, not inside the camera. A visitor comparing detectors is really comparing systems, and the part of the system that will spend the accuracy is usually the part they had not planned to ask about.
