ASELSAN presents Inventra with a localisation appreciation certificate
ASELSAN recognised Inventra Mühendislik A.Ş. at SAHA EXPO 2024 for completing its localisation work and for the collaboration behind it.

ASELSAN has issued Inventra Mühendislik A.Ş. an appreciation certificate for completing its localisation work. The certificate was presented at SAHA EXPO 2024, the international defence, aviation and space industry exhibition held at the Istanbul Expo Center between 22 and 26 October 2024.
The certificate is signed by Prof. Dr. Haluk Görgün, Chairman of the Board and General Manager of ASELSAN, and by Nuh Yılmaz, Deputy General Manager for Supply Chain Management. It thanks the company for “successfully completing ASELSAN localisation work and for the collaboration with ASELSAN”.
What the document says, and what it does not
The wording is short and we are not going to stretch it. It records two things: that a piece of localisation work was completed, and that ASELSAN considered the collaboration worth acknowledging. It does not name a programme, a part number or a volume, and neither does this page.
That restraint is the point. A supplier who explains exactly what they localised, for whom, is usually telling you something the customer did not agree to have told. What the certificate is evidence of is narrower and more useful: that a Turkish prime contractor put its name to the statement that this company finished what it started.
Why localisation work reaches us at all
The reason a prime looks for a domestic supplier is rarely price. It is that a subsystem bought abroad comes with a lead time, an export licence and a support queue that the programme does not control, and that those three things decide the schedule far more often than the unit cost does.
Answering that means owning the design rather than assembling someone else’s. Every product in our catalogue is designed, manufactured, integrated and qualified across our two facilities in Ankara — the mechanism and its structure, the drive electronics and the embedded software, and the environmental testing that comes after. When a requirement changes, the change is made here.
We have written about what that shift means from the buyer’s side in a separate paper: Owning the Subsystem sets out what a localised supply chain lets a programme ask for that an imported one does not.
The exhibition
SAHA EXPO is organised by the SAHA Istanbul Defence, Aviation and Space Cluster. The 2024 edition ran for five days at the Istanbul Expo Center in Yeşilköy and brought together manufacturers, prime contractors and delegations from across the sector.
