ASELSAN presents Inventra with a localization appreciation certificate

ASELSAN has presented Inventra with an appreciation certificate for successfully completing its localization work.

The certificate was presented at SAHA EXPO 2024, the international defense, aviation and space industry exhibition held at the Istanbul Expo Center from 22 to 26 October 2024.

It is signed by Prof. Dr. Haluk Görgün, Chairman of the Board and General Manager of ASELSAN, and by Nuh Yılmaz, Deputy General Manager for Supply Chain Management. It thanks the company for “successfully completing ASELSAN localization work and for the collaboration with ASELSAN”.

Confidentiality

Inventra does not disclose which program a piece of localization work belongs to, under which part number or at what volume. That information belongs to the customer rather than to the supplier. A supplier that explains exactly what it localized, and for whom, is usually disclosing something the customer did not agree to have told.

What the certificate is evidence of is narrower and more useful: a Turkish prime contractor has put its name to the statement that Inventra finished what it started.

Why primes look for domestic suppliers

The reason a prime contractor looks for a domestic supplier is rarely price. A subsystem bought abroad comes with a lead time, an export license and a support queue that the program does not control, and those three things decide the schedule far more often than the unit cost does.

Answering that means owning the design rather than assembling someone else’s. Every product in Inventra’s catalog is designed, manufactured, integrated and qualified at its R&D Center and its Integration and Test Center in Ankara: the mechanism and its structure, the drive electronics and the embedded software, and the environmental testing that follows.

When a requirement changes, the change is made there. Because machining, surface finishing, cabling and integration take place in one building, configured products can be delivered in four weeks.
