Simulation
Multi-body dynamics verifies the kinematics of a mechanism and puts realistic loads on bearings, actuators, brakes and end stops before those parts are selected. Hardware-in-the-loop runs the control algorithm on its target microprocessor against a simulated plant, so the loop is tuned before a prototype exists. Rapid virtual prototyping shortens the distance between a design change and its measured consequence.
